Solved – The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.

It is really frustrating when you want to update new theme or plugin into wordpress and it gives this error.

“The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini”

Solution of wordpress maximum upload file size 2mb

It happens when wordpress maximum upload file size 2mb. You can change it to any size. Follow the instructions.

Solution is Simple – 1st Solution

Step 1 – Open your cpanel and click on File Manager

Step 2 – Click on public_html


Step 3 – Click on Wp-admin


Step 4 – Create new File by clicking here in the round box

Step 5 – Create a file name php.ini


Step 6 – Open and Edit php.ini File

Step 7 – Write these 2 codes

upload_max_filesize = 32M
post_max_size = 32M


Step 8 – Save the file, refresh your website and try again. You can now upload the file size maximum 32MB, you can increase it according to your desire. 


Method 2 

If you are still unable to upload the file into your wordpress. Go to Filemanager ->Go to Wp-content ->


Go to Themes -> Upload your theme file in zip format


Extract it->then go to website’s theme 


Go to your wordpress theme section, your theme will be there, activate theme and enjoy.

  1. W3 Total Cache => Enable and save all settings
  2. WP Fastest Cache => Enable it

After using these two plugins,  check your website into Google Page speed tool. Your speed will be increased for sure. Comment if you don’t get results.
